A candidate shall possess B.Sc degree with 50% of marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1 and 45% for OBC) with optional subjects: Physics, Mathematics and Electronics or Electronics, Mathematics and Computer Science or Physics and Mathematics are eligible.
The scheme, duration intake and eligibility for these courses is as per the UGC regulations entitled “UGC Minimum standards and procedure for the award of M.Phil and Ph.D degree, 2009”.
Significance of the course
Electronics is the branch of science dealing with the development and application of devices and systems involving the flow of electrons in a vacuum, in gaseous media and in semiconductors. Electronics has extended its wings to nearly every field impacting our day to day life. Electronics has applications in various fields such as communication engineering, medical field, agriculture etc. Job prospects for post graduate students include industries in Electronics, Information Technology (IT), Biomedical Instrumentation etc., operating on designing, planning, building and repairing of electronic products. M. Sc graduates in Electronics can find various job openings under Government sector and are eligible to teach at Under Graduate, Graduate, and PostGraduate levels. Also, they can join in various research organizations as scientists or join as research scholars/assistants to pursue higher studies.
